Oyama Christmasrose Fan-club, a volunteer group, was organized to make Park "Joto" a famous place for christmasroses(Hellebores), and permitted by the competent authorities of Oyama city.
　Many of flower-beds were designed by member's ideas to delight the eyes of visitors.　All the care to nurse seedlings, to grow plants till 2 years old, to plant in the beds, to weed and sweep in the beds, and so on, were done by members all the year round.
　There are about 1,300 plants of christmasroses in this park. All of them are originated in seedlings from selfing or crossing between favorite parents, so there are various kinds of color of the flowers.

About 300 plants are grown along the path like a long large doughnut. 　Three plants of same lines are planted together, single petal plants are outer side of the doughnut and double petal plants inner side of the doughnut. 　Some of Cephalanthera falcata (Kinran in Japanese) have grown naturally in this flower bed.

This is a elliptic bed based with white flower plants. Three parents(A,B & C) of wild species and offspring(AxB, AxC, BxC, & AxBxC) between them are planted in this Tombi bed.　Each parent is located at the corner of the triangle bed and the offspring are located at the space between parents.　Offsprings are better than parents in vigor, in number and size of flowers and leaves.　These phenomenons often appear in cross-pollinated species so-called as Heterosis.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　.

H.niger is one of the famous wild specie.　Flowering season of H.niger is the earliest in the wild species.　There are some groups in this bed, single flower group in pure white, another single group changing the color from pure white to deep pink, double large flower group in pure white, and their offspring group.　They all are in one family.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　.

This fan-club made a start at May 2011, almost the same time when the huge Earthquake occurred at Tohoku area, so we devote two beds of hope in order to heal the soul of victims, one is 'Sun of hope' and another is 'Star of hope'.　This Sun bed is round and swell slightly at the center.　All plants planted here will have red flower some day.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　.

This Star bed is pentagonal and swell slightly at the center.　All plants here consist of yellow or white flower plants creating a neat and clean atmosphere.
